Unknown to many, the original split in the Provisional Republican movement centred not on the thorny topic of abstentionism but on a row about the wording of some graffiti on the roof of Hanna’s Factory.

Originally reading, “1690 we want a repalay”, traditionalists amended the slogan to, “1690 we want a relapy”.

Eventually a compromise was found in the form of “1690 we want a reply”.

Sadly, 1690 did not reply and as a result, Hanna’s factory became a concert venue.

  1. When I grow up and have my own rock ‘n’ roll band, I’m going to call them ‘The Iconic Roof’.

I know this is not a very serious site but Peter Hart? That is stretching credibility.
